CRDET focuses on upgrading engineering technologies, improving the quality of engineering education and enhancing collaboration on technology development.

CRDET also push forward the College of Engineering, Central Taiwan Science Park and Taichung Industrial Park to establish exchange and cooperation in engineering science and technology research development, as well as to invite industry consortia to conduct industry-academia cooperation.

Besides, CRDET plans the publicity of the distinctive R&D features of various departments of the College, facilitates the College of Engineering in establishing partnerships with domestic colleges and universities and high school vocational schools.

Furthermore, to promotes the research achievements of the faculty of the College through concrete cooperation with famous engineering colleges abroad, to enhance the academic reputation and popularity of the departments of the College both domestically and internationally.
